NIKE BASKETBALL: RISE 2015

With China home to millions of passionate ballers, we wanted to unlock the hopes and dreams of an entire nation as they struggled to overcome stereotypical barriers and views on sport. We launched a TVC during the NBA finals to trigger recruitment and world-class NBA athletes were brought in to help train and coach the final 30 that were whittled down from the tens of thousands who applied. We told this powerful story via ‘real-time’ weekly episodes for millions of engaged viewers to inspire a nation that the ability to ‘Rise’ is in all of us and spark conversation around sport in China.

Role: I was the day to day account lead on Nike Basketball, working out of China for 8 months on site at the Nike campus, managing multiple clients (20+) and third parties simultaneously, across multi-function teams, forging relationships and being their 'go to'. It required me to be attentive, flexible and strategically focused in order to drive this campaign forward.

Results: Rise delivered a vision that transcended sport. 30B Impressions, tens of millions watched the weekly shows and a whole nation was inspired to believe that anything is possible by breaking down barriers in the sport. Exclusive athlete’s Rise collections (Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, Paul George specific products) were sold out while they were on tour in China.
